Itinerary
Depart early from Kampala or Entebbe for a scenic drive through Uganda’s rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and lush countryside. Stop at the Equator for photos and a brief experiment demonstrating the earth’s hemispheric divide. Continue through the Ankole region, famed for its long-horned cattle, with a lunch stop enroute in Mbarara. Arrive in Bwindi by late afternoon, check into Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge overlooking the misty forest, and relax as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe / Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Equipped with your trekking gear, you’ll set off with expert guides and trackers through thick rainforest, winding vines, and moss-covered trees in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take from 2 to 6 hours depending on their location, but the moment you find them, watching young gorillas play and silverbacks beat their chests, will stay with you forever.
After the trek, you’ll head to Lake Bunyonyi, where you can take a refreshing swim in Uganda’s most scenic lake or paddle a canoe to enjoy the natural beauty and visit nearby communities. Thereafter, you’ll head to the Birdnest at Bunyoyi to unwind, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience and transfer to Bunyonyi
After breakfast, bid farewell to Bwindi and begin your journey back through the picturesque highlands of southwestern Uganda. Enjoy en-route stops for photography and lunch in Mbarara before continuing to Entebbe, arriving in the evening for your flight.
